Lower Austria
80% of the net material costs for renewal, upgrading or new construction of fences for sheep, goats, calves, horses, alpacas and llamas.

Upper Austria
Fence material:
50 % of the net material costs for renewal and upgrading or new construction of fences for sheep, goats and calves (young cattle up to 12 months); the prerequisite is that the fence exceeds the minimum requirements of a standard electric fence and ensures basic protection against large predators (recommendations of the Austrian Centre for Bear, Wolf and Lynx).
GPS tracker:
50 % of the net material costs for GPS trackers for sheep and goats.
Livestock guardian dogs:
The purchase of livestock guardian dogs can be supported; the amount will be decided on a case-by-case basis (minimum 150 sheep).

Salzburg
Fence material:
Investments for retrofitting or purchasing new fences, including accessories, for implementing livestock protection. 50% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of €3,000. No new application is possible within a 5-year period.
GPS tracker:
50% covers the cost of a new device, up to a maximum of €80.00 per unit. Sheep and goats aged one year and older, with a minimum of 60 days spent on alpine pastures, are eligible. Depending on the herd size, a maximum of three GPS collar transmitters will be subsidized, with a total subsidy of up to €240. No new application is permitted within a five-year period.
Livestock guardian dogs:
Sheep: up to 200 sheep – 50 % of the acquisition costs of two livestock guardian dogs, maximum €1,100 per dog.
For farms with 200 or more sheep, one additional livestock guardian dog is eligible for funding for every additional 100 sheep, but no more than 4 dogs.
Other farm animals: 50 % of the acquisition costs after individual review, maximum €1,100 per dog for a maximum of 4 dogs.

Styria

Tyrol
Fence material:
60% Purchase of electric fences for sheep and goats. The prerequisite is that the fence exceeds the minimum requirements of a standard electric fence and provides basic protection against large predators.

GPS tracker:
50% for GPS trackers via the Tyrolean Sheep and Goat Breeders' Association: maximum 5 devices, staggered: 1 tracker with protective cover per 10 animals, from 41 animals 5 trackers with protective cover, at a maximum of €75 per device.

Vorarlberg
Technical herd protection:
For sheep and goats (from 10 animals, older than 1 year), the following maximum eligible costs per year apply:
- 10–19 animals: 500 €
- 20–49 animals: 1.000 €
- 50–99 animals: 2.000 €
- From 100 animals: 3.000 €
The specified maximum amounts can be claimed a maximum of two times within the validity period of the directive.
- Funding amounts already received must be taken into account if the funded technical herd protection system is still intact.
- Costs incurred must be documented by invoices and proof of payment.
Livestock guardian dogs:
The purchase of livestock guardian dogs can be subsidized. Funding is granted after individual review of each case.
